To Make Money Online The First Thing You Have To Do Is…

The first thing you have to do if you want to make money online is realize that a lot f the crap you’re going to do to try to make money online is going to fail miserably and you’re probably going to fail quite often before you have an epiphany and finally discover the real secret to making money online.
You’re not punching a time clock here… you don’t get paid for showing up.
The real secret is that there is no secret and we’re all just flinging shit at the web until we find something that works and then we just repeat and repeat and repeat until the method no longer works…
There are so may ways to monetize a website these days it’s unbelievable and there’s literally a new make money online blogger or guru born every second it seems that’s ready to tell the world what the best way to make money online is…
Focus on the basics when making money online.
Buy a good domain name, focus on generating website traffic to your site and then experiment with different monetization models until you find something that you’re happy with.
It’s a lot easier to determine how well a monetization model will work once you have consistent traffic to a website.
Personally right now I’m working a lot of wordpress blogs and at the moment I’m considering building some static sites because I don’t have any in my network of sites right now… I don’t know if static sites will work but how will I know if they do if I don’t try them?
And that’s basically what business and making money online is all about!
It’s about taking risks and not knowing what the outcome is going to be and that’s why some business owners and some entrepreneurs strike it rich… because we’re willing to try new things and fail miserably when most people just don’t have the stones to “waste their time” with something that might work…
I’ve tried a lot of things to make money online… some of them worked well, some worked for a period of time only to fail later and some failed right off the bat.
The key for me has always been to build websites or blogs around good domain names in niches that I enjoy writing about and what I always try to focus on is creating websites that provide some kind of value to the end user (the exception being Adsense sites but even my Adsense sites have good, original content because I suck at creating crappy websites!).
I think if you’re doing that you can’t go wrong with your making money online ventures… Think about it, even the websites you make that you can’t monetize you’ll be able to use to create “link juice” for your other sites and you can also use these sites to index some of your newer sites.
I trip out on the people that want to make money online but aren’t willing to fail every now and again… that’s just not a god way to approach it. You’re setting yourself up for a lot of stress and heartache if you don’t think some of your projects will be complete embarrassments and wastes of your time.
It is what it is… learn from your mistakes and move on.
